Do you have a passion for golf and enjoy sharing your knowledge of the game with others? Join our summer camp golf program as a counselor and help campers learn the basics of golf on our beautiful 9-hole chip and putt golf course, The Vista 9! While The Vista 9 may not be as expansive as Augusta, as picturesque as Pebble Beach, as historic as Pinehurst, or as challenging as Torrey Pines, it offers a unique and enjoyable golfing experience that campers are sure to love. You’ll teach campers the fundamentals of grip, stance, swing, and short game skills. You’ll also lead campers in practice drills and friendly competitions that encourage skill development and fun. We have a professional turf putting green at our disposal where you’ll have the perfect place to teach campers the fine art of putting. You’ll work with campers of all ages and skill levels, creating a supportive environment that encourages growth and learning. Whether you’re an experienced golfer or just enjoy the game as a relaxing hobby, this is a great opportunity to share your love of golf with a new generation of players!
As a camp counselor at Vista, you can sign up to lead, or assist an activity. If you’re experienced you may sign up to lead; if you don’t have prior experience we’ll train you so you can assist.
It’s your job to teach the fundamentals and help campers enjoy the activity. You’ll play a key part in creating a safe and fun environment so campers can learn and grow. You will be responsible for ensuring that all campers follow proper safety protocols and that equipment is handled and maintained appropriately.
The Role of a Camp Counselor
As a summer camp counselor you will have responsibilities in your activity areas and the greater camp program. Your positive attitude, diligent supervision, and servant-leadership are instrumental in making camp safe and fun!
Counselors at Camp Rio Vista for Boys and Camp Sierra Vista for Girls serve as big brothers and big sisters to our campers. You will be the grown-up kids ages 6-16 are looking up to while they are at camp.
