As a camp counselor at Vista, you can sign up to lead, or assist an activity. If you’re experienced you may sign up to lead; if you don’t have prior experience we’ll train you so you can assist.

It’s your job to teach the fundamentals and help campers enjoy the activity. You’ll play a key part in creating a safe and fun environment so campers can learn and grow. You will be responsible for ensuring that all campers follow proper safety protocols and that equipment is handled and maintained appropriately.

The Role of a Camp Counselor

As a summer camp counselor you will have responsibilities in your activity areas and the greater camp program. Your positive attitude, diligent supervision, and servant-leadership are instrumental in making camp safe and fun!

Counselors at Camp Rio Vista for Boys and Camp Sierra Vista for Girls serve as big brothers and big sisters to our campers. You will be the grown-up kids ages 6-16 are looking up to while they are at camp.
