As a lifeguard at Vista Camps, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety of campers and guests during various water activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising swim classes and ensuring participants adhere to proper swimming techniques
- Overseeing canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and other water-based activities
- Monitoring the safety of campers using the rope swing, water trampoline, blob, and other attractions
- Enforcing water safety rules and responding promptly to emergencies

The Role of a Camp Counselor
As a summer camp counselor you will have responsibilities in your activity areas and the greater camp program. Your positive attitude, diligent supervision, and servant-leadership are instrumental in making camp safe and fun!
Counselors at Camp Rio Vista for Boys and Camp Sierra Vista for Girls serve as big brothers and big sisters to our campers. You will be the grown-up kids ages 6-16 are looking up to while they are at camp.
